Welcome to Pope County, Minnesota, source of inspiration for POPE FICTION, a series of short plays about five teenagers growing up in the "Mild Midwest." In this introductory episode, the kids meet for the first time in detention ("The breakfast club!") and discover a shared resentment for certain segments of their high school population. It's Elliott, the cyber-whiz, who first suggests using the Internet to get even.

NOTES: Roles can be gender-switched if necessary. Play length is approximately 30 minutes.

Cast Requirements:
MINIMUM: 5 teenagers, 1 child, one adult
MAXIMUM: 5 teenagers, multiple children, multiple adults and townspeople.
There are five roles for teenagers and one speaking part for a smaller child. At least 2-3 small children should be cast as the rope jumpers and more are permissible. With adequate costume and make-up alterations, one adult can play the mayor and Moira's mother. Ideally, the five teenagers should provide all other adult voices from off-stage.

Cost: The play is available as a package only. Performance rights are included in the package purchase price; no additional royalties are required. A package consists of 10 copies of the play.
