Meet the Moppets
Hi. We're the Moppets of Stevens County, Minnesota
(Alissa, Angie,
Ashley, Brenna, Emma, Heather, Kelsey, Megan, and Whitney)
and we'd like
to welcome you to this preview of our show on

in Edson Auditorium
at the University of Minnesota, Morris.

Actually, this isn't rehearsal at all... we're just helping UMM custodian
Tom Swenson keep the place clean. Now please excuse us while we review
our mantra. "Observe! Concentrate! Observe! Concentrate!"
"Little pig droppings! Nobody loves you!"
"We love YOU, Miss Hannigan!"
The Ritz it aint. "Clean sheets once a month, whether you need them or
not!"

Class instructor Rebecca Webb here.
In 1977/78 I took a P.E. class at Fort Riley Junior High School that
included a section on interpretive dance. We were supposed to pick an
instrumental song, come up with a theme, and choreograph a number to it.
Ridiculous. We portrayed "a storm at sea" to "A Fifth of Beethoven."
Ridiculous. The current hit was a cliched song choice and we were no
storm at sea. "But at least no one else will do any better with this
silly assignment," I assured myself. The cheerleaders went last. What
could cheerleaders possibly come up with?
An old west gunfight to the "Theme from the Rockford
Files."
I learned something that day about artistic possibility. And human
potential.
The only specific dance move I remember is the celebratory dance of the
citizens at the end. But the idea will remain with me forever.
