BAD SEED Production Photos

These photos are from the published version of the Maxwell Anderson play, Bad Seed (Dodd, Mead & Company, New York 1955), adapted from the William March novel, "The Bad Seed." I've never seen them on-line so I thought I'd share them.

Production info: First performance Dec. 8, 1954, Forth-sixth Street Theatre in New York. Directed by Reginald Denham. As you can see from the photos, most of the original cast made the transition to the screen for the 1956 film, including Patty McCormack as Rhoda Penmark, Nancy Kelly as Christine Penmark, Evelyn Varden as Monica Breedlove, and Henry Jones as Leroy. Sorry, no pix of Eileen Heckart as Mrs. Daigle. That's Thomas Chalmers as Richard Bravo (Paul Fix played him in the film).
