premed students
- The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is hosting two summer camps for pre-medical students. These programs are meant for pre-meds wanting an intense experience that is both intellectual and experiential.One program is in neuroscience, one is in surgery.
- The Office of Admissions at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites you to apply for the Summer Clinical Internship Program for undergraduates and post-baccalaureate students interested in careers in medicine. More information will be posted here later in January.
- Minnesota's Future Doctors is a great program that you might want to look into. The mission of this group is to "recruit and prepare highly qualified, minority, immigrant, rural, first generation college, and economically disadvantaged college freshmen for medical school".
- The annual Premed Day at the UM Twin Cities is a great way to learn about premed preparation in general, and the UM Duluth and Twin Cities programs in particular. The event is in April - check here for details later in the year.
- The National Institutes of Health is offering the Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Individuals from Disadvantaged Backgrounds, with up to $20,000 per year in support. Click here for details.
- The
Health Careers Center at the Twin Cities campus offers lots of of programs and workshops for premed
and other pre-health students. Advanced registration is
required for most events.
- The American Osteopathic Association would
like you to know a little bit more about them. There has been about a 100% increase
in the number of practicing Doctors of Osteopathy in Minnesota in the last ten
years. You can also check out the Minnesota Osteopathic
Medical Society.
