Admissions Statistics
Admission to medical school is extremely competitive. To get an idea of how competitive, you should check the most recent admissions statistics for the Twin Cities and Duluth medical schools.
You probably have the best chance of getting into the state supported school of your homestate: this means the UM Twin Cities or Duluth medical schools for Minnesota residents. In general, it is much more difficult for nonresidents to be admitted to a state supported school.
Students who come to UMM and get good grades have a very good chance of being accepted to medical school ( 72 % of UMM graduates who had GPAs of 3.5 or better were accepted in the past 5 years - see stats below).
