Curricular Innovations
Since Fall 2000, all Fundamentals of Writing, College Writing, and Introduction to Creative Writing courses have been taught as service-learning courses. Students plan and implement therapeutic activities for residents of a local long-term care facility and write a series of reflective essays, research essays, and found poetry from the residents' words.
