Egyptian Rocket Goddess. 1990.
Patinated bronze, height 42" with base - Private Collection

On the head of the Egyptian Rocket Goddess is a headdress, which is an affirmation of her power and status. It is adorned with tiny sphinxes and a phallic rocket on the apex. There is another phallic symbol on above her genital area. She is holding a snake, showing how she communes with animals, and is described as "initiating death and rebirth" (Gouma-Peterson 109).

This sculpture is leaning slightly forward, and she looks like she is about to take off. She is beautiful and seems slightly removed from us, with her eyes averted upward. Her palms are open toward the sky, to me further emphasizing her power.
