I am enjoying my 40th year as a member of the faculty at the University of Minnesota, Morris. As my CV shows, I have held a wide variety of duties during my years here. My teaching has always been my first professorial love but my scholarship comes a close second and I treasure the time that I am able to secure for it. Creating a Homepage is one of my efforts, albeit imperfect, to stay current.

Program Consultant, The Archibald Bush Foundation:

Since 1998, I have coordinated the Bush Foundation's grants program in support of Faculty Development at Tribal Colleges. Twenty-two of this nation's fully accredited tribal colleges have participated in this ten year initiative. Each college has been eligible for a one-year planning grant of $15,000 and two three-year program grants ranging from $30,000 to $50,000 per year depending upon the size of the full-time faculty. The goal of these grants is to strengthen student learning at these colleges. Common strategies toward that end have been improving the integration of native cultures into the curriculum, expanding active learning strategies, developing skills with instructional technology, and helping faculty keep up in their subject areas.
